About Me:

Hello and thanks for visiting my website/blog. My name is Ben and I am the writer/owner of this website. I am a happily married man in my 20’s. I own my own business, I enjoy eating healthy, exercising, studying the Bible and religious topics, spending time with my wife, watching movies, carpentry, and much more. I love living! And I want to live a life that pleases God.

Although I have deep religious beliefs and interests, I do not attend church or belong to any type of religious denominations. If you want to know my religious beliefs on certain topics, check out my blog. I write a great deal about my beliefs and points. I am just “a guy who studies the bible and other religious texts independently, and I believe in God very deeply.” I suppose you can call me a “Christian,” but I don’t really like religious labels because they tend to segregate people.

A Brief Summary of My Beliefs Thus Far

I believe that 1 Almighty God exists. I believe that God’s laws should be followed, and we should repent & turn away from sin. I believe that the bible is the word of God. I believe that Jesus was the Son of God, Messiah, and Christ who died & was resurrected to sit at God’s right hand. I do disagree with some Christians who claim Jesus is God. I tend to view Jesus as something separate & different from God, as I think it is much more scripturally accurate to say so (plus the bible never says belief that Jesus is God is a requirement). I have written about this topic explaining my views with scriptures & a debate on this topic as well.

I am very conservative, and of course don’t support most liberal ideologies (abortion, gay marriage, etc.). I tend to have a very literal view of biblical stories, simply because there is quite a bit of archaeological evidence that supports most of them, and also because the bible presents them as facts, not “made up stories to illustrate morality.” So things like Noah’s flood, parting of the Red Sea,  and so forth are real, and I believe them as historic events.

I reject evolution & abiogenesis as a model for how humans “got here.” I think it is quite obvious that there are some scientific facts in the theory of evolution, but there are also loads of myths, unproven ideas, and wild assumptions that will never be able to be scientifically proven. It all happened in the past, and all we can do as humans at this point is collect evidence & make guesses. Both an atheist & Christian have an incredible amount of faith, they just place their faith in different things.

I tend to have a “creationist” view toward life & the origins of Earth, however, I do not place a specific date on it, simply because the bible doesn’t. I believe God created us all in our final forms, but wrote within our genetic code the ability to allow subtle adaptation. If a man can create a new species in a lab (via genetic engineering), and that species didn’t have to evolve slowly over millions of years under the pretense of natural selection, then why couldn’t God create us in our final forms as well?  That is precisely what I believe. I believe God created us in our final forms, and wrote within our genetic code for slight adaptation to our environment (otherwise we would die from the slightest change in the Earth).

I do not usually agree with every denomination on every theological point (baptist, catholic, etc.). So I do not like to apply specific labels to myself, and I like to remain independent of a certain church. Instead, I feel like any believer is my brother or sister (as Christ called us). I feel most denominations or even other religions have basic truths, but I differ in opinion about many theological stances among the different denominations. I do believe in an ultimate truth in life, and I believe God is behind the truth.

Instead, I believe we should all be united in God’s love. That is one thing that frustrates me, the fact that people like to segregate themselves from other faiths.  I have total respect for people of all faiths and ideas. I love all Muslims, Jews, Christians, Buddhists, Atheists, Agnostics, and anyone else–even if they disagree with some of my ideas or beliefs. While I respect all faiths, and love all people, I also have sometimes very different ideas. I like to sometimes point out differences in articles on this site, compare ideas & religious concepts, and even debate with atheists, agnostics, and others. Even though I may seem silly (or like a smarty pants) in some of my articles, I am really a laid back guy in reality. I don’t have any enemies (that I know about), and tend to get along really well with anyone. My intention is to never offend anyone at all. Again, please never be offended by something I write, as that is never my intention. I just like to write articles to make people re-think things…that’s it.

My writing can become quite colorful at times, and I do this for a reason. I enjoy making interesting points, and sometimes use extreme examples, and even have a “mocking” or “silly” tone just to really make my point known. I feel that if I didn’t write in this way, well, it would get very boring very quickly.

Plus I once used to have the belief that Christians shouldn’t “voice their opinions” & should only sit back & keep their mouth shut. However, this is certainly not what Jesus did. He would debate constantly with the Pharisees & Sadducees.  So my thinking has changed in this regard, and I know enjoy voicing my opinion about a variety of topics.

I feel my place in life is to LOVE, not JUDGE. Only God can accurately and fully judge a person’s heart, and God’s main message is to “LOVE THY NEIGHBOR.” That means even if they don’t believe what you believe, or follow the same religion or denomination you follow, love them & treat them kindly. Again, I love all people, even atheists. I just disagree with many views, and sometimes draw distinctions or have polite debates to contrast belief systems. I even like to “pick on beliefs” sometimes, but I am doing it just for fun and to think critically about various topics. In reality, if I met you in life I would probably be a great friend, regardless of your beliefs.

But that is me in a nutshell. Just a guy that loves life, loves God, and wants to find all of the answers that I can find out about God and the Bible. I want to live a great life, believe in God with all of my heart, and do something big in life. I want to breath my last breath knowing I did everything I wanted, lived with an open heart, and had a blast in this life. I want to know that I have repented of my sins, tried my best to please God. If God really didn’t exist, what have I lost? Nothing. If God does exist, I could gain eternity. Either way, I feel like I can’t lose.

My Views on Christianity: What Is a Christian?

To me, a Christian can be summarized by the following:

  1. A Christian is a person that isn’t perfect, but strives for perfection according to how God’s laws define righteousness.
  2. A Christian isn’t sinless, but strives to be sinless. When we fail, we must quickly repent & correct our behavior. We must take God’s commands and teachings seriously.
  3. A Christian is someone who follows Christ, the prophets, and God’s word. Anyone can call themselves a Christian, however, not everyone has the “fruit” of a Christian. Your fruit defines who or what you are in life & before God.
  4. A Christian is a new creature before God. My old ideas have totally changed since devoting my life to God. I find myself not laughing at things I used to, getting upset about things I never used to get upset about, and so forth. You really become a new creation and begin to feel a connection with God like never before.

About this Website/Blog:

I started this site as a way for me to write about my own feelings, ideas, and things I find along the way of my independent religious studies. I am currently doing a study of the entire bible, and when I am done with that, I plan to study other religious texts, theological points, and more. I have always had a DEEP interest in the questions of life such as, “Why are we here? Where did we come from? Why does God allow this? Why doesn’t God do that?”

I use this site as a way to voice my own opinions, write articles of interest to me, reach out & help others by giving advice, and more. I also tend to give a lot of attention on “apologetics.” Apologetics is simply the answering of the “Hard” questions about the bible. It gives explanations to those hard ideas and scriptures. I like to focus on that, because I feel a lot of people have doubts because of those hard questions. If you can provide a reasonable and logical explanation, it tends to increase people’s faith and they tend to examine God and religion more closely.

The truth is, the Bible is a very SOLID book. It can’t really be dis-proven, and almost every argument or so called “contradiction” usually turns out to be perfectly accurate or logical when examined more closely. Everything can be harmonized & explained. It is really a beautiful book too. I know some like to take certain events out of context to make it sound bad, but I have such a deep feeling of love & peace when I read scriptures.

So that is basically why I have this blog: To talk about God, to spread His message, to talk about my own ideas and theories about life, God, the Bible, nature, science, as I learn them etc. I also like to talk about interesting points I learn, good scriptures, current problems and hotly debated concepts, and more. I try to give advice or answer biblical questions when they are asked.

I try to keep an OPEN MIND about everything. I may change my mind on certain theological points if I can find evidence or good arguments for changing them. Living a life that pleases God, and learning about God is a JOURNEY–Not a DESTINATION. That means you can never get to a point where you know everything or are absolutely perfect. You have to take everything one day at a time. Learning about God, and Living a life for God takes discipline, and hard work. I am not perfect, and I know I never will be. But God is a forgiving God, and He takes mercy on us when we repent. While I am never perfect, I strive for perfection. While I am a sinner, I repent from them & despise sin.

You may also notice that I don’t have comments enabled on this blog. The reasons are simple: time & quality. I view this blog as my voice, and my perspective. I view it as if I am writing a book or even a journal (albeit in a different form). How frustrating would it be to read a book, and then have 50 comments below on each page or chapter of people arguing & bickering about a certain topic? Yet, that is usually what happens on religious blogs, and I feel it drastically takes away from the experience of being able to read 1 individuals perspective in a coherent way.

This site is a random collection of ideas on various topics. Having said that, I don’t necessarily want to have people dropping by & leaving flaming or rude comments (which happened when I had them enabled). If people want to debate, or write their views, they can start their own blog, join a forum, etc. I have no problems at all hearing other’s opinions (as I debate all the time on forums & so forth), I just don’t want them scattered all over my site. Furthermore, I often link to sites I find interesting, or sites that link to me about one of my articles. That, in my opinion, is the way the web should work.

Add to that the fact that I run several sites, and comments alone can be a huge burden & time waster to manage. The amount of spam I get across my sites is staggering. Therefore, it is much easier, and much more productive to simply turn them off entirely, which is what I have done on nearly all of my sites/blogs. So in general, no comments makes my job more efficient, and allows my voice to be heard.

I hope you will find some of my writings, articles, and ideas interesting. I not only do this for me, but I also do it for others that may be interested it this same material. I also do it for God.

God bless you, and have a great day!
